Little Explorers Discovery School Summer Camps

Public Enrollment will open January 1, 2025. If you'd like to be added to our summer camp waitlist, you can email us your enrollment preferences at communications@littleexplorersdiscoveryschool.com. Once public enrollment opens, we will reach out to waitlist families first.
Please note: We are closed January 1-5, 2025 for the holiday break. We will respond to summer camp inquiries in the order received via email when we return January 6.
At Little Explorers, children will engage in a summer camp experience where imagination is encouraged through open- ended loose materials exploration, art creations, STEM activities, creative movement, music, stories and lots of outdoor discovery play!
Teachers will utilize our Reggio-inspired approach to respond to the children's interests and development with provocations and ideas to engage, inspire and extend their curiosities.

Camp Dates for 2025:
We have two enrollment options this summer:
1) Full summer enrollment (7 weeks)
2) Single-week enrollment*
*Rising Adventurers (18 months-2 year old) children who are new to LEDS may only enroll for a minimum of three consecutive weeks. Due to the time it takes to adjust to a new setting at this age, there will be no single week enrollments for this group for new students. Existing LEDS students may enroll for single-week enrollment.
Camp Weeks/Themes
Friendship Week: June 16-23
We will make new friends, engage in partner games and projects, make friendship bracelets and learn about what it means to be a good friend. LEDS open for Juneteenth. We will be holding a Juneteenth celebration at camp on Thursday, June 19 and celebrating the African American culture and freedom.
Messy Play Week: June 23-27
We will get messy this week with sensory experiences, messy art and lots of hands-on fun.
LEDS Closed June 30-July 4
Art Week: July 7-11
We will dive into lots of different art mediums this week, including paints, clay, tissue paper, coloring tools, and more.
Sports and Games: July 14-18
We will learn sportsmanship while learning to play different games and sports from our culture and cultures around the world.
A Walk in the Woods- Nature Week: July 21-25
We will learn survival skills, set up a camp and explore with nature loose parts, nature art and creating food in nature.
Build, Create and Experiment- Makerspace and STEM Week: July 28-August 1
We will build, make, create and experiment this week using different resources and materials.
Color Your World: August 4-8*
We will dive into all things color this week with tie-dye, rainbows, color experiments, colorful art and more.
On Friday, August 8, camp will end at 12:00 for all campers, following our end of camp celebration.
Children will have a designated water play time each day. School-age children will attend a field trip to the Crozet Pool once per week.
All camp sessions run from 8:15am-3:00pm, Monday through Friday.
Aftercare will be held from 3:00-5:00pm, Monday through Thursday. No aftercare on Fridays.
Age Groups
Rising Adventurers: DOB 10/01/22-09/30/23
Rising Explorers: DOB 10/01/21-09/30/22 (must be potty trained)
Pre-K: DOB 10/01/20-09/30/21
School-Age: Rising K-Rising 5th grade
Please note children will go to the Crozet Pool once/week. There will be two field trips that will replace the pool day during two weeks of camp .
Tuition
Rising Adventurers:
New to LEDS Students: Minimum of 3 consecutive week enrollment only.
Full Summer Tuition (7 weeks): $2,415 ($345/wk)
Single Week Tuition (for existing LEDS students only): $365
Rising Explorers and Trailblazers:
Session Cost (7 weeks): $2,345 ($335/wk)
Single Week Tuition: $355
School-age (Rising K-5):
Full Summer Tuition (7 weeks): $2,310 ($330/wk)
Single Week Tuition: $345
Aftercare (M-Th, 3:00-5:00):
Single-week PRESCHOOL: $70
Single-week SCHOOL-AGE: $60
Registering for Camp and Payment Structure
To register for camp, please email us at communications@littleexplorersdiscoveryschool.com. We will respond within 48 business hours to let you know if your child's spot has been reserved. You will have 48 hours to pay the $200 deposit (or full tuition for single week enrollment) to confirm your child's spot.

Single Week Enrollment Payment Schedule
All tuition for less than 5 weeks of single-week enrollment is due upon enrollment.
5 or more weeks will follow the two-payment schedule (50% due May 30 and 50% due June 30). A $200 non-refundable deposit will be required upon enrollment. The $200 will be applied to the total cost of tuition.
Full Summer Enrollment Payment Schedule
All payments will follow the two-payment schedule. 50% of tuition will be due May 30, and the remaining 50% will be due June 30.
Please note: The $200 deposit is due upon enrollment. The non-refundable deposit will be applied to the total cost of tuition.
Registration Paperwork
All campers must have all registration paperwork completed by May 30, 2024.
Please Note: Failure to complete registration paperwork or pay tuition by the deadline will result in releasing the child's spot and a forfeit of the deposit.
Registration is on a first come, first serve basis. Camp inquiries will be answered in the order received.
All camp enrollments are Monday through Friday. Absences do not result in a refund. We will offer refunds for paid weeks until April 1 (with a forfeit of the deposit). After April 1 , no refunds will be issued.
